Regular brown electrocorundum
Hardness that works - aggressive abrasive for precise and demanding tasks
Who was ordinary brown electrocorundum created for?
Brown electrocorundum is an abrasive created for companies that need high effectiveness in cleaning and preparing surfaces. Its properties make it ideal for metal plants, renovation companies, production of steel structures, as well as in the machinery and automotive industries. This is the choice for those who require a clean, rough surface ready for further production.

What distinguishes ordinary brown electrocorundum from other standard solutions?
The sharp, irregular shape of the grain ensures exceptional aggressiveness in action. Electrocorundum (also called corundum) penetrates dirt, removes layers of scale, paint and corrosion from micro-crevices and hard-to-reach nooks and crannies. Its hardness (9 on the Mohs scale) and aluminum oxide content of at least 95% guarantee high durability and effectiveness over a long period of use. The material is safe – it does not contain free silica, which eliminates the risk of silicosis and increases work safety. Additionally, it is distinguished by repeatability of quality – each batch is checked in the German laboratory of HENGE Group GmbH.
Production method and structure are the key to success
Brown electrocorundum (corundum) is produced by melting bauxite in an arc furnace, followed by rapid cooling and crushing into appropriate fractions. The result of this process are sharp-edged grains of high density and hardness, which are characterized by a long service life – up to 15 cycles in closed circulation systems. Corundum grains are resistant to crushing and crumbling, which significantly reduces operating costs and the frequency of adding material. Thanks to this, technological processes using it are stable, predictable and economical. Selecting the appropriate granulation of electrocorundum in accordance with the FEPA standard allows for precise control of the surface profile of the processed detail. The sharp, irregular grain structure ensures high efficiency in removing dirt and obtaining the required roughness – regardless of the degree of dirt or hardness of the substrate.
In which industry is ordinary brown corundum suitable?
Foundries and metal processing plants
Brown electrocorundum is mainly used in the processing of small castings, foundry molds and details made of aluminum and non-ferrous metal alloys. It is useful wherever dust from steel shot would pose a risk of subsequent corrosion. Due to its sharp-edged structure and high chemical purity (Al₂O₃ ≥ 95%), it enables effective surface cleaning without the risk of secondary damage or contamination of the material. Electrocorundum can also be used to clean ceramic foundry molds or precision tools that require raw materials without free silica.
Automotive and aviation industry
In the automotive and aerospace industries, brown electrocorundum is used for precise matting, cleaning and preparation of thin-walled details – e.g. body elements, covers, fuselages, turbines and aircraft profiles. Where pure alumina content and the absence of free silica are crucial, corundum offers excellent process repeatability and compliance with environmental standards. Additionally, thanks to its mineral structure, it can be successfully used in cyclic processes of surface preparation for anodizing, gluing or sealing. As an inert and dust-free material, it meets the stringent requirements of production hygiene and industrial cleanliness standards.
Production of steel structures and machines
In pressurized cabins and pneumatic systems for preparing the surface of large elements – e.g. welded structures, tanks, brackets or frames – electrocorundum works well thanks to its effectiveness in reaching edges, corners and irregular shapes. It allows you to obtain the required surface profile, which is necessary in the further stages of applying protective coatings. Due to its hardness and sharpness, it allows you to quickly remove difficult surface contaminants and give the surface adhesion suitable for long-term anti-corrosion protection.
Is your company from a different industry? It doesn’t matter!
Brown corundum is also used in unusual applications, such as renovation of monuments, cleaning of concrete and stone surfaces, preparation of plastic and rubber surfaces, and even engraving or sharpening tools. Thanks to its universality, high availability and standardization of granulation according to FEPA, this abrasive is valued by specialists from many industries.

How to choose electrocorundum for the purification process?
How do we implement brown electrocorundum into client companies?
Process analysis – We do not start projects without a thorough understanding of the current process. Therefore, in the initial phase of the project, we precisely analyze the client's current challenges and problems to check the room for potential optimization. If we jointly recognize that the current state can be improved in terms of quality and economics, we continue the project.
Tests and training – In order to reduce the risk of changes introduced in the customer's conditions, we carry out tests on selected material in the test center in Łódź. We evaluate the results, consider possible corrections, and then prepare an action plan for the following months. We train employees in the areas to which they need to pay more attention and introduce the necessary procedures that will allow the team to maintain the established process parameters in the long term.
Process supervision – We continue project cooperation. We provide regular support aimed at cyclical monitoring of the process after changes in the client's process. This allows customers to even better understand the key quality and financial aspects related to processing.
Process supervision – We continue cooperation. We provide support, dedicated care and periodic monitoring of the process.
