Steel grit

Steel grit is using to remove old coatings, scales and to give roughness before painting.
Steel grit
Our goal is to maximize your satisfaction – because of that, we work only with the nest European abrasive producers. Steel grit is made by crushing the high carbon steel shot. Steel grit is used in pneumatic devices, blasting machines and blasting chambers with a closed abrasive circuit. The main usage of steel grit is removing old coatings, mill scales, it is also used for cleaning highly rusted elements.

We offer steel grit in three standard degrees of hardness:

  • GP - 450-550 ± 40 HV (45-52 ± 2 HRC)
  • GL - 600-700 ± 45 HV (54-59 ± 2 HRC)
  • GH - 800-950 ± 60 HV (64-68 ± 3 HRC)

Usage

  • Cleaning dirty and degenerate layers;
  • Roughening surfaces in order to increase the adhesion of protective layers;
  • Unifying the look of the surface;
  • Mill scale removal.

Composition

  • C 0,8-1,2%
  • Mn 0,35-1,2%
  • Si > 0,4%
Steel grit
  • S < 0,05%
  • P < 0,05%
